Laura Friedman today announced that her campaign for California State Assembly District 43 has been endorsed by the Southern California Pipe Trades District Council 16.
District Council 16 is comprised of 14 locals throughout Southern California representing thousands of union plumbers and pipe-fitters.
Friedman has a long history of support for working families. Her mother was a union nurse and shop steward who was able to raise a family as a single parent due to her union.
Laura Friedman brought the first Project Labor Agreements to Glendale in history. She is leading the fight to increase the minimum wage in the city and is working to require that new hotels built on city land be union.
“I am proud to have the support of the Pipe Trades. I come from a proud labor family and the trust and support of labor is extremely important to me and my campaign,” responded Friedman.
In addition to District Council 16, Laura Friedman has already been endorsed by:
Amalgamated Transit Union Local 1277

Glendale City Employees’ Union
International Union of Painters and Allied Trades, District Council 36
