Democrat Laura Friedman has secured the endorsement of the Communication Workers of America, Southern California Council.
CWA is the largest union in the communications and media industries, representing over 700,000 members across the nation. The Southern California Council is comprised of 17 CWA locals in the region.
“Laura Friedman is a fighter for working families,” stated T Santora, Chair of the Legislative-Political Committee of the Council. “As a Glendale City Councilmember, she is leading the fight to raise the local minimum wage to $15 an hour. She comes from a union family and understands the vital role that organized labor plays in creating and sustaining America’s middle class. We are proud to support Laura Friedman.”

CWA marks yet another important labor endorsement for the surging Friedman campaign. She has also been endorsed by Amalgamated Transit Union Local 1277, Plumbers Local 761, Roofers Union Local 36 and the Glendale City Employees’ Association
Laura Friedman serves as a member of the Glendale City Council where she is in her second term. She is also a member of the Metropolitan Water District Board of Directors, Immediate Past-President, Independent Cities Association and a Board member, Southern California Association of Governments, Energy and Environment Committee. Laura is also a small business owner.
